Hajo was a member and later Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GfK SE from 2005 to 2008. Since 2011 until the liquidation of the AG at the end of 2014 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Gruner + Jahr & Co. KG. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the NGO Welthungerhilfe (International Hunger Relief), and the Non-executive Board of Phineo, a company of the Bertelsmann Foundation. Furthermore, Hajo represents the Republic of Austria in North-Rhine-Westphalia as its Honorary Consul.
